1. What data do we process when visiting this website?

Lidl collects information we learn about you from visiting our website and using our services. Our website gathers statistical information and other analytics from all our visitors. This information is contained in data files. Each data file contains the following information:

  • the web page from which you came to the current page (referrer)
  • the date and time of the query

The log files are stored for 7 days and are used for security purposes in case of a cyber-attack on our website.

3. What data do we process as part of your application process?

We process any information you submit to us in the recruitment process. Personal information you submit will be used to process your application in Lidl’s recruitment process on the basis of your consent. This information will be processed through a third party who manage the recruitment portal and are obligated to keep your data safe and secure on behalf of Lidl.

4. How long do we save your data?

If your application is successful, your data from the candidate profile will form part of your personnel record. If the application is unsuccessful, your data will still be kept for 12 months, after which your data will be deleted.

5. What are your rights?

Under Data Protection law, you have the right to receive a copy of any information that Lidl holds in relation to you and you have the right to withdraw your consent to Lidl’s use of your information at any time. You may also request that Lidl rectify any of your information that is incorrect, or to have it erased completely.
